Did you know that February is National Children's Dental Health Month? It also happens to be Love of Reading Month. Both are incredibly important for our young patients. Children are constantly learning the importance of self-care and self-improvement. We love that we get to be a small part of helping improve the lives of our patients.
As many of you know, this month, many people will be celebrating Valentine's Day with their loved ones. Children, especially, will be enjoying another holiday filled with sugary treats. As it is true for all holidays, we recommend that your child enjoy the day. Then, once the day is over, it is time to get back to their normal routine of limited sweet treats. We recommend your family try to limit sweet treats such as candy to special occasions and no more than once per week.
Just like putting on shoes or reading each day, oral health care is about routines. Your child will not only learn to value their oral health by having a set oral health routine but will come to miss that routine if it is broken.
As things start to settle down after the holidays, we do want to remind everyone that, with the new year, you have new benefits you can begin using. If you are looking to set up an appointment for your child, please call in to see our availability.
Before we end this month’s blog, we just wanted to give a special shoutout to Desmarie and Claudeth. They are both celebrating birthdays this month. Thank you both for everything you do for everyone at Northwest Children's Dentistry!
We hope to see you all soon!
